| Description | Quelles revues d'histoire de l'art contemporain aujourd'hui ? En réunissant des éditrices et éditeurs de revues dont le champ de recherche est celui de la théorie et de l’art contemporain, Federica Martini (HEAD), Maria Stavrinaki (UNIL) et Giovanna Zapperi (UNIGE) proposent de réfléchir aux procédés, aux supports matériels, aux significations et aux vocations de leur activité. Dans un paysage extrêmement chargé, où le temps et l’attention des historien.ne.s de l’art est constamment sollicité, quelle est la spécificité d’une revue qu’il s’agit de défendre et de promouvoir ? Les éditrices et les éditeurs réuni.e.s dans cette journée écrivent dans des langues différentes, appartiennent à des champs épistémologiques et esthétiques divers et adoptent des échelles temporelles variables.
What contemporary art history journals for today? Editors of journals whose field of research is contemporary art and theory are invited by Federica Martini (HEAD), Maria Stavrinaki (UNIL) and Giovanna Zapperi (UNIGE) to reflect on the processes, material supports, meanings and vocations of their activity. In an exceptionally busy landscape, where the time and attention of art historians is constantly in high demand, what is the specificity of a journal that must be defended and promoted? The editors gathered here today write in different languages, belong to different epistemological and aesthetic fields and refer to different time scales. In the seminar, each editorial project will be presented and discussed in order to stimulate a joint discussion on the role of journals as primary means of producing knowledge about art and the discipline of art history.
This seminar is funded by CUSO and will be held entirely in English.
